IIC
The Center for Industry Institution Interaction was established in 2022 to enhance the relationship between the industry and the institute. This platform facilitates students and faculty to understand the industry's expectations from graduates. The IIIC acts as a stage to highlight industry best practices, the latest technologies, and their applications.
Furthermore, the IIIC encourages industry experts to engage in curriculum design and career development programmes, which are key in shaping students' skills according to industry standards. To elevate academic standards globally, faculty members receive ample industrial exposure to improve the teaching-learning process and produce high-quality students.
The IIIC's main objective is to foster closer ties between academia and industry. It serves as a conduit between industries and the institute, bridging the gap between industry demands and the institute's outputs. Faculties' exposure to industry practices is beneficial in guiding students on the latest industrial trends. This exchange allows industries to stay informed about advancements in their field and undertake projects for a technologically advanced economy.
OBJECTIVES:
- Exploring and pinpointing common channels of engagement with the industry.
- Establishing a Center of Excellence in collaboration with industry entities to offer real-time exposure to cutting-edge technologies.
- Encouraging diverse research initiatives among teaching staff and students.
- Forging partnerships with industrial and research bodies across different sectors through Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) as a means of collaboration.
Roles of the Center for Industry-Institute Interaction
- To organize workshops on trending technologies by experts in the field.
- To assist the departments in organizing workshops, conferences, and symposia with the joint participation of the industries.
- Encouraging engineers from industries to visit institutions to deliver lectures
- To organize industrial visits for faculty members and students.
- To coordinate or identify industrial partners for proposing ‘Centre for Excellence’.
- To assist the Training and Placement Division.
- Industry executives and practicing engineers will be welcomed to observe ongoing research work and laboratory facilities.
- Faculty members will visit industries for learning, engaging in discussions, and delivering lectures on topics of shared interest.
- Distinguished faculty and professors from industries will be invited to the institute for academic interactions.
- Students will gain hands-on practical training through internships in various industries.
Major Focus
- To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
- Start-up supporting mechanism in HEIs.
- Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of institutions on innovation achievements framework.
- Establish function ecosystem for scouting ideas and pre-incubation of ideas.
- Develop better cognitive ability among students.
Function of IIC
- To conduct various Innovation, IPR and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by MIC in time bound fashion.
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
- Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
- Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
- Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.
